A black screen is a common problem in the Windows operating system. Sometimes, after working or making changes or updates and restarting the computer, the problem suddenly occurs. In some cases, you can still see the mouse cursor. This can happen for various reasons.
Solution #1: You can perform a restart.
Try a forced restart, and after that, restart normally. Sometimes this resolves these types of errors. Try the following:
First step: Press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.
Solution #2: You can try resetting the video driver.
If your screen goes black when you start the operating system, it indicates that something didn't load correctly during login. You can try the key combination (Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B). This will reload the graphics driver, searching for previously disabled graphics settings.
Solution #3: Accessing Windows Advanced Recovery Mode.
This helps us troubleshoot serious problems when the system fails to boot correctly, enabling a series of tools that allow us to repair or restore it to a previous state.
If the black screen appears after entering the Windows user password:
First step: On the Windows login screen, press the "Shift" key and click the "Power" button located in the lower right corner.
Second step: Click the "Restart" option to enter the advanced mode of the Windows operating system.
Third step: Select "Troubleshoot".
Fourth step: Choose the "Advanced Options".
Fifth step: "Advanced Options" menu.
A menu will then open with several options that can attempt to repair the operating system.
System Restore: This option allows you to find a saved restore point on your computer to restore the operating system without losing data.
System Image Recovery: If you have a saved image of your operating system on an external device, you can try this option.
Startup Repair: Choosing this option will automatically analyze what is preventing the operating system from starting correctly.
Command Prompt: This option will open a command prompt. You can try the following command: “sfc /scannow”.
Uninstall Updates: This option removes recently installed quality updates or features. If you installed an update and this problem occurred afterward, this option is the solution.
Startup Settings: This option allows you to start the operating system in various ways. It is recommended to start the operating system in Safe Mode with Networking.
First step: Click on Startup Settings.
Second step: Click on the Restart button.
Third step: Select the option “Enable Safe Mode with Networking”.
If the operating system started in safe mode, you can make the necessary changes to try to resolve the corrupted files and return to normal mode.
Solution #4: Reinstall the Operating System.
If you have tried all the solutions and none of them work, the last resort would be to back up all the data from the storage drive and reinstall the operating system.
